Solid Advice for Purchasing Third-Party Inkjet Cartridges

If you’ve read some of our previous posts you’re aware of some of the infographics out there talking about the crazy prices that today’s ink cartridges run at – the black liquid is more expensive per ounce than expensive perfume like Chanel No. 5! No wonder, consumers are getting increasingly vigilant about their ink cartridge use and are looking for alternative ink cartridge options in the market. Although refilled ink cartridges can be a great option if you get your cartridges refilled at a reliable ink refiller, for the purpose of this post we’ll focus solely on aftermarket or third-party inkjet cartridges. What are third-party inkjet cartridges? Let’s start by identifying what third party ink is. Cartridges made by the same brand as your printer are referred to as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) cartridges. For example, a HP ink cartridge manufactured specifically for your HP OfficeJet Printer. Third-party ink cartridges, or non-branded non-OEM cartridges, are not made by your original printer brand manufacturer but by another company that promises that their cartridges are compatible with your printer. Why not all third-party inkjet cartridges are created equal. There’s been a lot of debate and argument over if third-party inks are worth [...]

Xerox Plans to Dominate Inkjet Printing Market by Acquiring French Inkjet Printing Equipment Manufacturer

If you’ve been on top of our blog posts lately you’ll see that most major brands are all diversifying into the inkjet printing market. Inkjet printing technology continues to advance and affordable inkjet printers that produce excellent quality prints and offer stellar features like wireless compatibility, document sharing and duplex printing are being well-accepted by small and medium sized businesses (SMB’s). As reported by Democrat and Chronicle, Xerox too has made it official that they will be stepping into the inkjet printing market by buying Impika, a French company that designs, manufactures and sells its own unique line of inkjet printers and related equipment targeted towards commercial inkjet printer users. “We’ll be able to reach any customer in the industry now,” said Jeff Jacobson, president of Xerox’s graphic communications operations, in a conference call with reporters. “Our goal is to enable our customers and position ourselves if a customer wants to do business with Xerox. …We will have the broadest inkjet portfolio in this industry.” According to Jacobson, “Production inkjet printing is growing at an annual rate of 20 percent,” “and the acquisition will allow Xerox to take a larger leadership position in the market.” He stated, “It’s where many [...]

“Low on Ink”? Taking a Look at the Epson Chip Resetter

Do you get a “low on ink” warning even though you know you have plenty of ink left in your Epson ink cartridges? Most printer brands, like Epson, are designed to hold a “chip” in their printers that forces consumers to buy Epson branded cartridges as these are recognized by the printer. What this means is that third-party Epson compatibles, refilled Epson ink cartridges and remanufactured Epson ink cartridges, might still continue to show a frustrating “low on ink” warning because the printer does not recognize them. Epson printers are known for their excellent quality, vibrant and crisp printing and a lot of this has got to do with their great ink and high quality ink cartridges. Especially, if you’re printing photos or high-resolution graphics for brochures, flyers and marketing material, you can count on an Epson printer and cartridge to do the job. However there are many reliable suppliers in the market today that offer Epson ink cartridges that meet or even exceed OEM, or branded quality. For major printer manufacturers like Epson, this is not good news. You see, printer manufacturers don’t make most of their money selling printers, they make their money selling ink and toner for [...]

HP Officejet Pro X is Recognized as Guinness World Records Speediest Printer

Exciting stuff is happening at HP. Just recently, HP announced the release of its fastest printer yet – The HP Officejet Pro X. How fast is it? Let’s just say it’s REALLY fast. If you want numbers, it can crank out 70 pages per minute (PPM) in black and white – yes that’s 70 pages in just ONE minute! No wonder it was recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s fastest printer – a record that will have laser printer enthusiasts surprised. In a laser competitive market, how does this latest inkjet compare? Here’s what PCWorld has to say: This $799 machine is nothing like the $400 small-office inkjet MFPs we’ve lauded in the past, let alone the sub-$100 beaters that drink pricey ink. The Officejet Pro X576dw is faster than any color laser we’ve tested—that’s its competition, not regular inkjets. Its consumables are supercheap; and its output quality is just fine, thank you. This is an inkjet that deserves respect from color lasers, including those from its own company. So there you have it. Finally – an inkjet printer that brings real competition to the laser printer market. And it’s not just speed we’re talking about here. According [...]

An ERP platform is a business management solution that streamlines business processes through a system of integrated applications.
